TOMY AND MERMAID (Part 3 )

Date: Oct 1, 2026Life

Tom was hopeful now that he knew that God was with him despite the banishment order placed on him by the King of Okuwa, his hometown.

So he continued his journey, hoping to find a town where he could settle down. All of a sudden, he noticed that he had entered into territory captured by armed bandits, who thought Tomy was a spy. He was arrested immediately and locked up in their guard room as a prisoner of war.

Those bandits all turned deaf ears to his banishment story which necessitated his wandering about in the bush. The commander asked him to dig his own grave, because they had agreed to open fire on him as the best treatment for an enemy who came on a clandestine mission into their midst. And they didn’t want his rotting body’s odour to pollute their environment. The firing was scheduled for the following morning.

In the night, he wept silently and sorrowfully prayed to God. Then, that God-sent man in white dress, who gave him the white handkerchief under the mango tree the other time, appeared again.

This time, he said to Tomy: “Wave the mantle in your hand and command your enemies to sleep deeply.” He also rubbed the handkerchief on the door and it opened. The man disappeared into the air.

And Tomy escaped with joy and continued on his journey to search for a town where he could be safe.

*Lesson:* God delivers His own in the time of trouble.
